I am the face behind Muffins and Megabytes and my name is Irene Gaudet, also often known as Vitrak. I lead a varied and interesting life. My first and major career has been as a research environmental microbiologist, first with Alberta Environment and now with the Alberta Research Council. I'm the proud mother of two grown children who sometimes raised me as well! At the prodding of my wonderful friend Bob, I've also started my own web design company aimed at small business and non-profit groups. I've finally got an outlet for my creative side - since I can't draw a straight line to save my life!

I would like to thank my children - my daughter Amanda and my son Alex - for their support and encouragement. We've grown together and my pride in you and your accomplishments is one of the great joys in my life.

I would also like to thank my good friend Bob for his encouragement, support, and occasional 'kick in the butt' when I needed it.

Finally, I would like to thank my parents, Lillian and George for their guidance and patience and for instilling within me independence and pride in my Ukrainian heritage.
